Service types are used to help break down visits into smaller services. They can be used for reporting on a specific visit type, help with planning allocation, as well as to help differentiate pay or invoice bands on rate sheets. For example, a care visit type could be paid different to a shadowing visit type.
Creating a service type
First, you need to create a service type to do this follow these steps:
Click Settings, then click Service User.
Click Service User, then click Service.
Click Types, then click the plus icon.
Enter the relevant details.

Click Save, then click on the new service type.
From QuickLinks, click Service Requirement Types.
Select the relevant checkboxes to link them to the Service Type.
Click Save.
Heading | Description |
Ignore Clash Checking | If ticked, the system will not alert an employee booked onto multiple visits for this service type. |
Ignore Max Hours | If the user has entered a maximum hours figure for the employees, if this is ticked, it will still be able to be allocated. |
Ignore Travel Time | You can choose to ignore the travel time rules within the Planning screen. |
Rest Hours Required Before | Entering a figure here will mean the employee cannot be on a shift X number of hours before a shift for this service type. |
Rest Hours Required After | Entering a figure here will mean the employee cannot be on a shift X amount of hours after a shift for this service type. |
Minutes Before | The window in which the service order can move before the service requirement start time. |
Minutes After | The window in which the service order can move after the service requirement. |
Hide Hours (by employee/Service Location) | Choose to hide the hours for this particular service type by employee or service user. |
Associating a visit type
After creating a service type you will need to also associate visit types to the record.
This can be done by following:
Click Settings, then service user.
Select Service User, then service.
Click types, then select the relevant service type.
From QuickLinks select Service Requirement Types.
Select all of the relevant check boxes.
π€ Tip: To create a new visit type, select the plus icon at the top right.
Click Save.
Add to rate sheet
Once you have created the service type and associated this to a visit type you can add the service type to a rate sheet by following these steps:
π Note: The system runs on a 24-hour cycle, so if the rate stay the same for the whole day, set your start time to 00:00.
Please make sure the Rate Sheet start date is before or the same date as when you would like the visits to start.
Click Settings then point to Finance.
Point to Invoice then click Rate Sheets.
Next to your rate sheet, click the arrow button, then click Revisions.
Next to your most recent revision, click the arrow button, then click Details.
Click the plus button then on the service type list, select your new service type.
Fill in the Start time and Invoice rate (Per Hrs) fields, then add any additional rates for the days of the week.
Click the save button, then click Revisions.
Click Apply? and wait for it to move to Applied status.
